Based in sunny Dun Laoghaire, Dublin, Fillit was founded in 2015 and went live July 2016. Fillit’s mission is to get people to Rethink Space, not just how space is used, but how it could be used.
From shelves to ships, desks to diners, we help people find that perfect space for their idea, while helping those with extra or underutilised space to promote it to its full potential.
OUR JOURNEY STEP ONE
An idea is born...
With extensive backgounds in both marketing and events co-founders John Carroll and Gianni Clifford constantly had a need for space.Whilst losing days searching for the right space they spotted not only a gap in the market but a completely broken siloed system of how space was being marketed. Lightbuld — let's do something to fix this.
OUR JOURNEY STEP TWO
Plans begain, quick snap - but there was lots to do. From initial chats to wireframes, designs to development, Fillit's team moved quickly to get a Beta version off the ground and it went live in Spring 2016. What next, ekk, we need space!
OUR JOURNEY STEP THREE
In Spring 2016, a crack commando unit of Space Hunters were sent onto the streets of Dublin to locate great spaces and get them on-boarded. Today, both space and Space Hunters are is still wanted by Fillit. If you know amazing spaces, if no one else can help, and if you can find them....maybe you can join the Space Hunters!
OUR JOURNEY STEP FOUR
With our platform tested and spaces a plenty, it was time to drop the Beta tags and make a bang. We transformed a dilapidated vacant space in Dublin City Centre into a party-mecca, invited all our pals and had a hooly, see here. The next day (albeit with sore heads) we began the next phase of our journey.
OUR JOURNEY STEP FIVE
Post launch in 2016 seen Fillit grow from strenght to strenght. We scooped awards and praise from Ireland's Best Young Entrepreneur, Enterprise Awards and Dublin Tech Summit, to name and few and continued to add both spaces and users to our platform. By December we had over 2,000 signed up active users.
OUR JOURNEY STEP SIX
Concurrently since our launch we focuse on our next phase, for eight months our product, development and CX teams worked side by side to build our second release, Fillit 2.0. This time we were equiped with more data and knowledge on what our users needed and expected from us. 2.0 went live in April 2017, isn't it nice, but the journey is not over though, we are constantly aim to improve.
